Job Description

Specialist Transcriber (University Temp Bank: 1 to 2 days work)

Approx £9.65 per hour + (dependent on level of experience)

School of Medicine

Applications are invited from Flemish and English speaking individuals to assist in the transcription of medical interview tapes.

You will be required to listen to audio recordings in Flemish and produce a verbatim written transcript of the spoken word to English. You would be expected to seek guidance to ensure correct understanding of any medical terminology used, however will be working autonomously for most of the work.

You should have a detailed knowledge of English and Flemish grammar and spelling to GCSE or equivalent standard. Experience in providing accurate transcription is also desirable although not essential. Advanced level skill of word-processing and the ability to work under pressure is essential.

This work can be completed from home, however within the timescales given for completion.
